Job Details:

This Engineering function is responsible for process engineering activities within the organization to ensure that business objectives are met. Ensure all relevant engineering and other technical documentation is accurate, up-to-date, and maintained in the appropriate systems.

Role Knowledge and Application

Complete knowledge and full understanding of constant process improvement and best practices within this professional discipline. Assesses unusual circumstances and uses sophisticated analytical and problem-solving techniques to identify the root cause. Resolves and assesses a wide range of issues in creative ways and suggests variations in approach. This job is a fully qualified, experienced professional, journey-level position.

Complexity and Problem-Solving

Works on problems from a simple document mistake or missing detail to a complex root cause study where analysis of information requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Devises solutions based on limited information and precedent and adapts to existing approaches to resolve issues. Uses evaluation, judgment, and interpretation to select the right course of action.

Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with the design engineering group to identify potential manufacturing issues early in the product development phase.

  • Work with multi-disciplinary teams to constantly improve our process and documentation. Regularly you will work directly with but, not limited to Project Engineering (schedule), Manufacturing Engineers (assembly documentation), Test Engineers (test procedures), Software Engineers (test automation), Design Engineers (EE, ME, SE), Contract Manufactures (QA, documentation improvement), and production material inventory (material disposition).

  • Develop and implement robust processes and procedures tailored to the specific needs of LRIP and FRP.

  • Actively monitor and analyze production data to identify areas for improvement and optimize manufacturing processes.

  • Use Aras PLM to monitor and review Engineering Change Orders (ECO) as product changes are made. Ensure accuracy and completeness of each ECO processing through our system. Communicate ECO details with LRIP and CMs as needed. Ensure material disposition is clear and all parties act promptly and appropriately.

  • Work closely with Contract Manufacturing sites to ensure adherence to process standards and smooth transition into FRP.

  • Using Atlassian Jira, ensure that design activities are accurate and complete, processes are followed, generate tracking tasks, and follow through to completion.

  • Provide ongoing support and guidance to production teams during the LRIP phase, addressing any issues that may arise.

  • Lead continuous improvement initiatives to drive efficiency, reduce costs, and enhance product delivery throughout the production lifecycle.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 5 years of related experience with a Bachelor's degree; or 3 years and a Master's degree; or a PhD without experience; or equivalent work experience.

  • A strong background in process engineering, with experience in manufacturing environments.

  • Familiarity with product design processes and the ability to collaborate effectively with design engineering teams.

  • Proficiency in process improvement methodologies, such as Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing, delivery by design, delivery by control, and a track record of implementing process improvements.

  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to interpret data and identify root causes of issues.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build relationships and influence stakeholders at all levels.

  • Experience working with Contract Manufacturing partners and managing production transitions would be a significant advantage.
