Job Description

Cleveland-Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Quality Systems Engineer at our Middletown Works operation. The Quality Systems Engineer is responsible for maintenance and oversight of the Quality Management System including the plant's certifications to IATF 16949, ISO 9001 and ISO 17025 at Middletown Works, the Research and Innovation Center and the West Chester Regional office.

Summary of Responsibilities:

  • Oversight of the Quality Management System.

  • Management and maintenance of documents, forms, records, training data for the Quality department.

  • Oversee the activities of the Operations Quality Coordinators.

  • Preparation of Production Part Approval Process records.

  • Perform Lead Auditor duties for the Internal Quality Audit System.

  • Oversight of the Internal Quality Audit program.

  • Assist with external Quality Audits.

  • Management of audit non-conformances and verification of corrective actions.

  • Management of the Process and Product Audits program.

  • Conduct Measurement System Analysis studies including use of MiniTab software.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Material Science, Metallurgy, or Chemical engineering.

  • 2 years' experience in Quality Systems Management.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Strong computer skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office products.

  • Must be able to periodically work outside normal business hours.

  • Travel to other Cleveland-Cliffs plants or offices up to 10%.

  • Be self-motivated and thrive in a fast-paced work environment with complex operations.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified Lead IATF 16949, ISO 9001 or ISO 17025 Auditor.

  • Prior experience in manufacturing or heavy industry.

  • MiniTab software skills.
