Hillcrest HealthCare System (HHS) is a comprehensive health system with over 6,000 employees who serve the communities of eastern Oklahoma. HHS includes eight hospitals and two physician groups including Oklahoma Heart Institute and Utica Park Clinic throughout Northeastern Oklahoma.

Utica Park Clinic

Utica Park Clinic, founded in 1982, is a multi-specialty medical group with 325 employed physicians and advance practice providers representing 30 specialties. They are made up of 55% primary care, 25% surgical specialties and 20% medicine specialties across 70 office sites in Oklahoma, serving 17 communities. Annually, Utica Park Clinic sees approximately 260,000 unique patients with over 700,000 visits.

Oklahoma Heart Institute (Physician Group)

From comprehensive diagnostics to open heart surgery and cardiac rehabilitation, Oklahoma Heart Institute combines recognized cardiovascular physicians and advanced practice providers with the region's most advanced technology across 13 clinics. Oklahoma Heart Institute offers critical care, interventional cardiology, noninvasive cardiology, electrophysiology, advanced heart failure treatment, and metabolic studies. Oklahoma Heart Institute is also involved in over 200 cutting edge research studies across the vast amount of specialties within the system.

Job Overview:

We have an exciting opportunity to join our leadership team at Utica Park Clinic and Oklahoma Heart Institute as a Chief Executive Officer.

The Chief Executive Officer of Utica Park Clinic and Oklahoma Heart Institute (CEO) provides leadership and directs the overall operation of the medical group consistent with the mission, values, and strategy of Ardent Health Services as well as with the goals and objectives of the medical group and its advisory or governing body. The CEO plans, organizes, applies, directs, controls, and evaluates all resources (human, facilities, equipment, capital, fiscal, and others) invested in the medical group. The CEO uses all resources to generate measurable results to benefit the corporation, the community, the medical group, and patients.


Responsibilities

  • Formulates and executes a regional growth strategy for both inpatient and outpatient services. Establishes effective and collaborative relationships to foster growth plans.
  • Ensures alignment of goals and objectives by and among Utica Park Clinic, Oklahoma Heart Institute, Hillcrest Health System and Ardent Health Services.
  • Builds and maintains a high performing leadership team and a high performing environment.
  • Collaborates and builds community and statewide business relationships. Establishes connections with other local providers and organizations.
  • Builds a broad regional network of care by seeking and identifying solutions for Utica Park and Oklahoma Heart Institute to affiliate with outlying stand-alone hospitals to support such hospital's services. Create outreach programs to remote areas and communities.
  • Continued development of Organizational Excellence by creating a culture that is supportive of all process improvement, quality improvement and streamlined workflow to optimize patient care and the patient experience.
  • Strengthen workforce culture to ensure adequate workforce for continued growth.
  • Collaborates with system peers including shaping system-wide initiatives to reduce redundancies and duplication of services, capital, personnel, etc. Capitalize on sharing high performing resources across the system to promote high performance and system-wide consistency.
  • Operates as a visible leader in the medical group, the system, and community.
  • Places a high priority on effective identification and selection processes for the hiring of talent across the organization.
  • Sets clear direction with leaders/managers, and establishes a culture of accountability.
  • Motivates, develops and partners with direct reports to help build their success.
  • Develops short and long range management and organization plans to define responsibilities and business activities consistent with medical group goals and objectives.
  • Implements Ardent Health Services' ethics and compliance program throughout the organization. Ensures that policies are uniformly understood and consistently interpreted and administered.
  • Develops and maintains effective and collaborative relationships with physicians, APPs, and non-provider clinic staff to meet the health care needs of the community and region.
  • Ensures that operational and financial reports are prepared as required in regularly scheduled meetings and committees.
  • Maintains accreditation and licensure standards Medicare, Medicaid, state licensure, and other regulatory agencies.
  • Responsible for the medical group's quality improvement and organizational effectiveness programs.
  • Ensures best practice, evidence-based approaches to consistently deliver exceptional, well-coordinated and integrated care that delivers high level outcomes and patient satisfaction.
  • Provides administrative direction for the recruitment, employment, development, and retention of all Utica Park and Oklahoma Heart Institute employees, both providers and non-provider staff.
  • Oversee's and evaluates Patient, Employee and Physician satisfaction surveys data.

Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Master's Degree from an accredited college or university in Hospital Administration, or Business Administration.
  • A minimum of five (5) years of experience in healthcare administration leading a medical group of similar scope, size and complexity.

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities

  • Excellent verbal, quantitative, managerial, and interpersonal skills.
  • Excellent leadership and interpersonal skills to effectively communicate ideas, problems, instructions (written and oral) with corporate management staff, medical group management staff and employees.
  • Ability to analyze situations, evaluate data, recommend, and implement courses of action that would improve the functioning of the company.
  • Ability to interpret, adapt, and apply guidelines, policies and procedures.
  • Ability to use sound judgment in decision making and react calmly and effectively in an emergency situation.
  • Knowledge of strategic planning and short and long-range goal implementation.
