HEALTH AND WELLNESS MARKET SEGMENT LEADER

Dewberry is currently seeking a Health and Wellness Market Segment Leader to champion strategic planning, internal collaboration, project leadership and external business development activities across our Health and Wellness practice.

The Health and Wellness Market Segment Leader will be a market-focused strategic thinker with subject matter expertise and experience. The Leader will report directly to the Dewberry Architects Inc. President and collaborate with other Dewberry leaders to develop and implement strategies for sustained growth.

Location

    Preference for candidates located in Fairfax, VA; Tulsa, OK; or Houston, TX market areas. Will consider relocation for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities of the Health and Wellness Market Segment Leader will include the following:

Strategic Planning

  • Identify market drivers at the national, regional, and local levels
  • Identify investment opportunities that support the Market Segment Tactical Plan and Corporate Strategic Plan
  • Implement strategic actions to position Dewberry for upcoming opportunities
  • Take ownership of the Health and Wellness Market Segment Tactical Plan. Advance, monitor and adjust initiatives based on market intelligence
  • Leverage industry knowledge to contribute to the evolution of the Tactical Plan
  • Coordinate the Health and Wellness Market Segment Tactical Plan with Dewberry Architects Inc. Business Unit Managers and Office Marketing Plans to set market segment and sub-segment sales and growth objectives on an annual basis.

Internal Collaboration

  • Lead business development and service delivery of Health and Wellness projects in Commercial, State/Local, and Federal Markets
  • Participate in key roles on select Health and Wellness projects and build strong relationships with internal team members, Clients and teaming partners
  • Leverage industry network to source, recruit, and on-board key subject matter experts and other project staff across the Health and Wellness Market Segment
  • Build relationships across Dewberry's Health and Wellness Market Segment through regular face-to-face meetings with Health and Wellness team members
  • Lead pre-positioning and the development of capture plans to win key Clients and projects by:
    • Using the full resources of Dewberry
    • Establishing strong teaming relationships with Dewberry Architectural, Engineering and Design-Build companies
    • Establishing a competitive position in the Federal Health and Wellness Market
    • Collaborate across Dewberry to raise awareness and solicit feedback on prevailing project and construction delivery methods in the Health & Wellness market
  • Drive collaboration across the Dewberry Enterprise's broader Health and Wellness market segment and sub-segment practices, as well as other related Dewberry market segments
  • Identify opportunities to pre-position for strategic pursuits by engaging all levels of Dewberry leadership
  • Work with the Federal Architectural Leader to increase Dewberry's visibility in the Federal Market
  • Work with the Marketing Director to develop an annual marketing plan for the segment to include strategic communications and tactics for growth
  • Oversee the preparation of price and technical proposals

Business Development

  • Lead efforts to identify, track, position, and pursue strategic new and established Health and Wellness Clients and projects
  • Collaborate with Dewberry leadership and Marketing/Business Development staff to achieve excellent results by developing strategies for upcoming opportunities
  • Serve in a Client Management role for strategic Clients
  • Achieve a record of sustained growth (sales, revenue, and profitability) of the Health and Wellness Market Segment at Dewberry
  • Increase Dewberry's visibility through active participation and presentation at related national and regional industry events and identify other opportunities for Dewberry to expand its presence with potential Clients and partners.
Required Skills & Required Experience

Qualifications

  • A Professional Degree in Architecture is required.
  • A State Professional Architectural license is required and the ability to be licensed in multiple states is preferred.
  • Minimum of 20 years of experience with subject matter expertise and management of ground up and renovation hospital and medical office architectural projects
  • Proven record of successful Client and business development in the Health and Wellness industry
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to provide meaningful project leadership support
  • Must be enthusiastic about Dewberry and our people, markets segments and services
  • Diplomatic and persuasive. Able to lead with influence and develop strong business relationships with clients, consultants and contractors.
  • Excellent team building skills, both internally and externally.
  • Ability to travel to represent Dewberry.

Must have a valid driver's license, good driving record and ability to pass a driving record background check.
